This post is designed to give you some insight into the relatively new technology of Binaural Beats.

Self-defense is about survival and nothing else. It is not about fighting fair, clean or being honorable. It is about doing what you have to do to go home and see your loved ones once again.
You don’t know how a thug is going to react when you connect your first blow to him so make sure you mean it when you attack.

Practice saying your trigger sentence or word and cueing yourself to attack when you say it.
Make sure your speech is smooth and that you are not telegraphing your words or actions before attacking.
If you are a woman use the power of sweet talk and get him to believe that you will do as he says, then turn the tables when he least expects it.
When speaking use your hands to help you speak, set them up to deflect or to position them closer to the target area you want to attack.
Use your surroundings, push your attacker into an object so he trips or falls. Giving you time to run off or to follow up with a more devastating tactic to immobilize him.
Gouge, spit, throw dirt or sand in his eyes to temporarily blind him to give you those vital seconds to get away.
Make your training as real as possible have your training partner grab you, swear, yell at you and rehearse what you are going to say before you attack

4. Visit Several Studios. Just because a studio is close, doesn’t make it the best place for you train. Wouldn’t you rather train at a place Five or ten minutes further away if it better matched your needs? Visit at least three places before deciding just to be sure.
5. Talk to Students. Students will tell all. They will tell you what to expect and why they decided to train there. This may help you make a better, more informed appraisal of the studio and its instructors.
6. Read the Fine Print. Not all studios require a contract, but if they do, pay particular attention to the terms of any contract and make sure you fully understand your rights before signing on the dotted line.

Since the first successful commercial typewriters were introduced in the late 1860s many unusual designs have emerged, some plain and simple, others intricate and stunningly detailed. One of the simplest and earliest designs had a wheel with letters round the edge which was turned manually until the required letter appeared in front of the paper and was pushed to form an impression.
More complicated typewriters had double keyboards, one for lower case, the other for capitals, and were created in brass and mother of pearl hand painted with glorious gilded leaves and flowers. These are the kind of unusual models to watch out for at non-specialist auctions and they’re almost certain to attract high prices on eBay.
These early models sometimes crop up at specialist typewriter auctions where they invariably fetch a high price. Not the place to buy in expectation of high resell fees on eBay but worth visiting for research and experience.
Like most collectibles, value depends mainly on rarity, not just age. For example, one of the earliest serviceable typewriters, the Underwood, created from 1900 to 1932 was made in the millions and can still be found in working condition, consequently they are worth very little.

* There are no catalogues or price guides for old typewriters such as those you’ll find updated annually for postcards and stamps, coins and ceramics. There simply aren’t enough collectors, or typewriters, to warrant special listings. Value, like many low volume collectibles is best determined at auction, and is the point where the price someone is willing to pay matches what the current owner will accept. By far the highest prices are paid for typewriters in good, clean, working condition, with or without restoration work.
* You should clean typewriters carefully, getting right into the tiniest of grooves without causing damage to keys which were often long and spindly and unexpectedly delicate. Here’s just a tiny few of their suggestions:
‘A toothbrush and a nail brush can be helpful.
For a gentler initial cleaning on a basically clean machine, try Endust or Pledge (be cautious around decals (transfers), as occasionally these products can harm them).
For an even gentler and safer cleaning, simply use a few drops of dishwashing liquid dissolved in water.
Q-tips (similar to cotton buds) are very nice for cleaning hard-to-reach areas.
For initial dust removal, the vacuum-cleaner hose attachment kits sold in computer and computer supply stores and catalogues work very well!’
* Best places to buy are at general auction or from long established office equipment stores, but rarely will you get a bargain from antiques and second-hand dealers who invariably think old means valuable, for most items, and often they are wrong.
* This is one of those collectibles you really need to study and learn what makes one older item worthless and a more modern type quite valuable. Web sites and books listed later provide much useful information. Choose one or both of those books mentioned later, they’re packed with pictures, and keep them close by on buying days.
* Don’t expect to make more than fifty pounds or so on most early typewriters, but remember you can pick them up very cheaply indeed, I’ve seen them fetch less than a tenner at local auction. The trick to making money is to buy typewriters in good condition, but dirty, and spend time cleaning them up and taking several great photographs to display them from all angles for listing on eBay.
* Be careful about delivery costs. These early models are extremely heavy and may cost way more to have delivered than they themselves are worth. Where possible, look for local buyers or others willing to collect.

In this Spanish lesson we will learn the Past Participle and its different uses. Although this lesson is actually briefer than past lessons, the Past Participle is very important if you want to learn how to speak Spanish. Its formation is quite simple. As in English, the Past Participle in Spanish is a central element in most topics of discussion.
In general, the Past Participle is best understood as having 4 distinct uses that include past and present actions, and adjectives. Although this range in usage seems broad, understanding each particular use can be learned and applied rather easily with practice.
Similarly, to form the Past Participle for salir (to go out) an -ido is added to its stem, sal. Its Past Participle is: salido.
With the Past Participle’s basic format in mind, what follows are examples of it for both regular and irregular verbs:

The 4 main uses of the Past Participle are as follows:
1. The Past Participle is often used in compound tenses with the auxiliary verb haber (to have). We have seen this use in the Lesson on the Present Perfect Tense. In the Present Perfect Tense the past participle of the sentence’s main verb is added to haber to express a past action that has not completely elapsed.
Let’s briefly review this use:
Juana ha estado en su cuarto todo el día.
(Juana has been in her room all day)
He querido ir a California.
(I have wanted to go to California.)
Mario ha vivido en Bogotá.
(Mario has lived in Bogotá.)
2. The Past Participle is used for the passive voice and usually follows the verbs ser or estar (to be). When the Past Participle reflects the passive voice, it must agree with the subject’s gender and number.
For example:
El papá de Diego está herido.
(Diego’s father is hurt.)
La hermana de Rogelio está cansada.
(Rogelio’s sister is tired.)
3. At times, the verbs llevar and tener are used instead of the verb haber in compound tenses (as in the Present Perfect Tense). When this occurs, the Past Participle must agree with the attribute’s gender and number. Although this use may seem awkward, think of it as forming an alternative expression for indefinite past actions.
For example:
Tengo hecha la comida.
(I have made the food.)
Juan lleva pagada la cuenta.
(Juan has paid the check.)
4. The Past Participle can also be used as an adjective. Keep in mind that for this use, the Past Participle acts as an adjective and must agree in gender and number with the noun.

(A dress made by hand)
Un hombre educado
(An educated man)
Un bebé mimado
(A spoiled baby)

If you have an Iphone, firstly congratulations-it’s been very tough to get hold of one, especially in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, and secondly, have you ever wondered how to get a good music collection onto it?
If you have, you will be glad to know that essentially there are two main sources for your music (unlike the lucky Zune owners, Iphone owners aren’t able to transfer songs directly with their friends).
The best way to get an absolutely huge selection of songs into your Iphone is by downloading them from the internet, and the other, slightly less cool way is to simply transfer your existing cd collection onto the iphone. This is ok, but it just means the same old songs for you.
Using either method will mean you need a computer, and if you plan to use the internet you’ll obviously need some kind of internet connection, and to transfer from CD you will need some ripping software-this is just a fancy name for a program that records music from your CD and saves in into Windows as a file so you can then do what you like with it. It’s pretty fast as well, so it’s not like you have to play the whole CD through or anything, it will usually take a couple of minutes tops.
Once you have the songs you want to transfer stored on your computer, it’s simply a case of connecting the Iphone to the computer and letting Itunes sync with it, which should then store all the new stuff onto the Iphone. Simple huh?
Downloading songs from the internet is a little more complicated, but then it’s worth it as you’ll be getting a lot of new music. The main thing to take into account is that you want to stay very aware of how secure your computer system is.
Iphones and Ipods etc are very popular, and the hackers and other unsavory characters know it only too well. There are a few sites around which will claim to offer all kinds of free music and downloads etc, only to give you downloads that are infected with trojans/viruses etc. For this reason you need to be very careful what kind of site you are using.
You’ll find that there are some sites out there that will give you real free downloads for your Iphone, but they certainly take some finding. A useful way of spotting them is to expect to play a nominal fee to get your membership. It’s something like $50 or so for life, which may seem steep but it usually gives you totally unlimited downloads, so offers good value in the long run.
Once you manage to get a few downloads, you can just transfer them to your Iphone using the Itunes program.

The Iphone’s popularity already seems set to eclipse that of the Ipod. Apple cemented their place in history with the Ipod, and by all indications look like they will be even more popular due to their latest breakthrough, the Iphone.
For reasons as yet unknown, it’s not currently possible to download movies or anything else directly onto the Iphone itself, instead, you will first need to download them to a computer and then transfer them across. This means you will of course need to have the use of a computer, and also an internet connection. Any fairly modern computer should be fine, and as far as the internet connections goes, the usual rule still applies – the faster the better!
The toughest thing about downloading Iphone movies is knowing where to get them from. True, you could get them from Itunes, and Apple are rumoured to be working on a native version of Itunes which will work on the Iphone itself and allow download of media while on the move. This will be pretty cool, but just like regular Itunes will probably cost you a fortune.
To combat this cost issue, many people currently use the file sharing or bit torrent sites to get their downloads from. This can seem good, as it’s very cost effective, but unfortunately you are breaking the law when you use these sites. That’s not even the worst part, torrent sites like this have no way of monitoring who uploads what, which makes them a real hacker’s playground.
This is bad news as it means that sites like this are often the first places to begin the spread of new viruses and malware etc – the hackers simply upload their latest virus and name it as something currently popular. The downloader has no way of knowing what they are getting until it’s too late.
Not all sites are like this though, over the last year or so a far more healthy alternative has made itself known. There are now a few sites around where you can join their membership for a small fee and then get unlimited access to their downloads. These sites prove far safer and offer excellent value, and would definitely be recommended for their high speed and wide range.
